About Kathleen Kohnke

Kathy Kohnke has over 30+ years working in healthcare staffing related to disasters and crisis. As the SVP of a Rapid Response® travel nurse staffing company; Fastaff; Kathy is often the first call of large hospital systems facing urgent crisis and needing nursing staff fast. She was the first call for most clients through unprecedented times like Hurricane Harvey, Ebola, H1N1, swine flu and, most recently, the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure experienced travel nurses would be sent to care for patients in times of community crisis. Kathy’s expertise is in mobilizing the teams, quickly finding experienced nurses ready to run into the crisis, get them credentialed and onto a plane as quickly as possible. In the case of Hurricane Harvey in 2017, even flooded roads couldn’t stop the delivery of Neonatal ICU nurses who journeyed the final miles by National Guard helicopter, landing on the hospital rooftop.
