California Society for Healthcare Engineering (CSHE)
The California Society for Healthcare Engineering (CSHE) is the California chapter of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE). Founded over 65 years ago, CSHE currently has over 1,000 members with eleven chapters statewide. Membership in CSHE is open to individuals actively employed directly in a healthcare facility or healthcare system, or to those who provide consultative, advisory, products or equipment to healthcare facilities.
CSHE Chapters regularly hold educational meetings either monthly or bi-monthly, which focus on topics of educational value, including facilities planning, design, construction, commissioning, plant operations, maintenance, repair, energy, building codes, safety, emergency management, and regulatory compliance. Not only do these meetings afford an opportunity to exchange ideas with other CSHE members on common healthcare facility engineering problems, but they are also an opportunity to collect continuing education credits towards certifications.
In addition to regular chapter meetings, CSHE also annually hosts the Annual Institute, Southern California Seminar, Northern California Seminar, and numerous regional golf tournaments. We frequently invite subject matters experts from HCAI (formerly OSHPD) and The Joint Commission to provide building code and regulatory compliance updates.
