Nature’s Head Self-Contained Composting Toilets are a great solution for areas affected by natural disasters. There is no water or chemicals used. Organic spaghnum peat moss or coco coir fiber are the only material needed to use the Nature’s Head. This means that in areas affected by disasters, such as flooding, safe sanitation is possible. There is a small fan installed on the toilet and the main function is to remove excess moisture from the compost bin to ensure the compost maintains an effective moisture level. In disaster areas without power, you can use without the fan or use a deep cycle marine battery to power the fan. Using the fan 24 hours a day, the battery can typically go up to 6 weeks before it needs charged. Nature’s Head Composting Toilets are designed to be used by up to four adults daily.
